In early 2018 miki-mike665 went to Sinai in Egypt to stay with family in the city of Dahab for a few months. Always on the lookout for visual information in the streets, it didn´t take long before the first public drawings caught his eye. If certain things get your attention, you can´t easily unsee them and in Dahab more and more drawings started appearing on the weathered walls and rusty gates: camels, cars and boats. Ordinary symbols on their own, but in this multitude they took on a different meaning. Miki-mike665 got obsessed and his son´s love for car drawings motivated him even more to collect the material and start his research.

A year later he finished his short movie on the subject.

We already produced a zine together, so when he presented me with his photo and research material, I was all eyes and ears. After watching his movie, we decided to print a book telling the story, accompanied by a selection of the finest art from the streets of Dahab.

We put a lot of love and effort into this project. It is riso printed with 5 colors on more than a hundred pages and hand stitched by motivated miki. We found a beautiful old and dirty cardboard, that we screen printed and used as a cover!
