Originally made for offices, schools and small businesses as a cheap, fast and sustainable copy machine Risograph printers have been used since many years by activists, artists, publishers and printmakers. With its plant-oil based inks and the low resolution comes a very distinct, smudgy and anolog style.
Unlike CMYK-printing in digital or offset presses Riso uses spot colors which get printed one by one just like in screen printing. That leads to interesting color combinations and imperfection in registration.
We think Risography can be a tool for many different occasions, but you have to accept - or better - embrace its flaws.
A risograph is a stencil duplicator. That means it makes a stencil for each motif and therefore a minimum of 20-30 print runs is recommended and you can either print using the scanner or send your files via computer.

To prepare the files it is best to contact us beforehand.
We currently have around 8 colors and different paper and bookbinding possibilities available. It is still recommended to plan a few weeks or even months depending on the print job.
